I sold my home. Went to sams and told them of my change of address. They sent my renewal to the new address and I renewed the membership. Something was charged to my account I think it was the renewal of membership and maybe more. They now have the bill to $200. I think. I went to sams to try and find out what the bill is about. They said I had to contact the collection co. They had been calling me. They said I owed the money I asked for a bill. I told them I did not know of any bill. They gave me an address to write to. I have sent 2 letters. no aswer. They call by computer say I owe money and that I have to write to get billing. I have a card that is in good standing. Shopped at sams yesterday. Meanwhile they call and pound on my credit. How do I stop the stupids?

Send them a certified letter wherein your request, pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, for WRITTEN PROOF of the underlying debt that they are attempting to collect. Advise them that you are demanding that all collection efforts cease until such time that written evidence of the debt is delivered to you. Remind them that a violation of the FDCPA is $1,000.00 per violation. That should get you at least a copy of whatever it is that Sam's Club thinks you might owe them.
