helpmedllr - Generally, every contractor will provide a warranty for work they preform. The length of the warranty will vary from one contractor to the next. Some contractors might offer 30 days and others might offer 6 months or a year. In your case, I would look to the terms and conditions contained in the warranty your contractor provided you.

Having said that I want you to know that all licensed contracors have an obligation to preform repairs in a satisfactory manner. If a contractor gails to prefom work in a satisfactory manner they are required to come back to your home and do the work properly. If they refuse to do so you should file a complaint with your state's contractor board.

In your state you have the Maryland Home Improvement Commission which licenses and regulates home improvement contractors. Here is a link to their website

http://www.dllr.state.md.us/license/occprof/homeim.html

If you go to this website you will see a link near the top right called "Complaints". In order to be fair, be sure to give your contractor an opportunity to respond to your concerns before you make a formal complaint.

A contractor and be fined and have their license revoked in certain situations, so threatening to report them to the state agency is often sufficient enough to compell them to do the repairs properly.

I hope these suggestions are helpful and I wish you luck in getting your home fixed properly. It will take some effort on your part, but if you do as I suggested there is a good chance this matter will get the attention it deserves.

Best,

Greg
